Many countries have resorted to ruthless experiments on people. In such a terrible way, the effect of new drugs, combat poisons and diseases, as well as the capabilities of the human body, is tested. Today in our review we will present the 10 most famous and cruel American experiments on humans.
1
Cancer treatment with huge doses of radiation
In the 1960s, the U.S. Department of Defense conducted experiments on unsuspecting black people who had cancer. Patients were only informed that they were receiving treatment using a completely innovative technique. But in fact, the government was trying to get the effects of hazardous radiation on the human body.
For more than ten years from 1960 to 1971, these experiments were conducted by Dr. Eugene Senger. More than 90 seriously ill people were exposed at the level of 7500 X-rays. All documents and patient cards were forged or specially filled out with errors, so that it was then impossible to prove the involvement of the government.
Some patients were exposed to their genitals with radioactive materials, for which they received $ 5 per month. Although they later received $ 100 for a vasectomy procedure to prevent their offspring with mutations. A vasectomy is a special procedure in which men or women are pulled by the vas deferens.
2
Mind control
Subproject 68 was supervised by Dr. Donald Cameron and funded by the CIA. The goal of the project was to learn how to control people's minds or influence them with the help of different substances or sounds. As patients, the doctor chose people with mental disorders.
In those years, electricity treatment was popular. Dr. Cameron exposed his patients to current 30 times more intensively than other doctors. Patients in a coma have been taking strong medications for months and listening to different voice commands around the clock. Many patients simply forgot who they are, where they are, where they come from, and even their age. Most of them suffered from amnesia from such exposure.
The experiments lasted from 1957 to 1964, as the doctor blackmailed high-ranking government officials with videos that captured their depraved acts against minors.
3
Radioactive injection
In the 1940s, American scientists began secretly experiencing the effects of nuclear weapons on humans. Secret testing began during the Manhattan Project. This project was aimed at developing a nuclear bomb by the end of World War II. As a result, as we know from history, two of them were dumped on Japanese cities. 18 patients were given plutonium secretly from them. Only 4 out of 19 patients lived more than 20 years after the injection, the rest died much earlier from serious illnesses.
Between 1946 and 1947, Dr. Sweet Williams injected uranium into 11 patients. They were made at the Massachusetts Hospital as part of the Manhattan Project. Then the doctor kept tissue samples of his patients who died from injections.
4
MK-Ultra Project
The MK-Ultra project, or another name, Midnight Climax, was carried out by the CIA in New York brothels, which were specially created for this project. They used LSD and other psychotropic substances that influenced consciousness to test their effects on humans. CIA agents paid prostitutes in advance to lure men into these houses, and then pump them with LSD, cocaine, or weed. A double-sided mirror was installed in the bedroom to monitor the effects of the drugs. The main goal of the project was to develop effective methods of sexual blackmail and interrogation. Thus, under the hood of the CIA were many officials and influential people. These houses were closed in 1966 after being exposed, but there was indirect evidence of their continued functioning.
5
Killer milk
For several generations, American agencies and research institutes in the USA have experimented with mentally ill children. Scientists from the US Atomic Energy Committee fed 28 children with radioiodine for research at the Nebraska Institute. Radioactive iodine or iodine-131 was actively studied at that time. It is formed in large quantities after a nuclear explosion or nuclear reaction. In the 1960s, 100 Alaskans were also exposed to iodine.
Between 1955 and 1960, parents left their mentally unhealthy children at the Sanoa State Hospital for treatment and care. But parents did not know that their children would be experimented. Children were given milk with the addition of radioactive iodine. I must say that in combination with milk, this isotope is absorbed by the body even faster. The thyroid gland does not recognize normal and radioactive iodine. It was alleged that the number of children who died in these years reached 1,400, and their brain was removed after death.
6
Mustard Gas Testing
In the 1940s, the US Army was actively testing various biological weapons on its own soldiers. Army scholars, without any consent, sprayed mustard gas on the soldier, which caused terrible chemical burns, swelling and severe pain. This was done as part of the development of protective clothing and equipment. The soldiers were simply locked in small cells and sprayed with gas. The number of victims of these experiments is not known.
By the way, there is an interesting article on extremely dangerous types of weapons prohibited for use during hostilities on our site thebiggest.ru.
7
Agent Orange
Agent Orange is a herbicide that has been equated with chemical weapons. It was used by the American army in the Vietnam War to destroy crops and rainforests. It got its name from the orange barrels in which it was transported.
Over Vietnam, 42 million liters of “dangerous orange agent” was sprayed. And also it was introduced to the Vietnamese to test the action. Prisoners of war as well as local residents were exposed. All experiments were funded by the U.S. Army and Dow Chemical, which produced the chemical.
The “agent orange” included mutagenic substances that caused oncological diseases and mutations of the body at the gene level. Its effects are felt now. Until now, children with physical disabilities and mutations are often born in Vietnam.
8
Puerto Rico Cancer Infection
In 1931, Dr. Cornelius Rhodes was exposed to cancer in Puerto Rico. He was at that time a famous American pathologist. The Rockefeller Institute sponsored him in these experiments. The doctor’s words are known, “Puerto Ricans are the most lazy, dirty and stealing race of people on earth.” Thus, he did not care about the death of 13 patients from his actions. Dr. Rhodes has made great strides in his career as Vice President of the Cancer Society of the United States.
9
Taskigi
This experiment was conducted in the town of Taskidgey, Alabama for 40 years. This is one of the most notorious studies that has been officially recognized by the US government.
Since 1932, the U.S. Health Service has deliberately infected black workers with syphilis. About 600 people were infected. All of them were in the same locality and worked in agriculture. The subjects were told that they received free medical care from the government and were treated for blood poisoning. They were provided with free food, housing, services and insurance for burial. But they never told the truth.
Scientists have so studied the disease itself and the possibilities of its treatment. The terrible thing is that there was an effective cure for syphilis at that time - penicillin. But it was never used to treat these people. The experiment ended only in 1972. Then-President Richard Nixon had to apologize to the whole world for such experiments on people.
10
Syphilis in Guatemala
And the last experiment on our list is also associated with syphilis. It was also conducted with the instructions of the US Department of Health, but only outside of North America. From 1946 to 1948, doctors, receiving funding from the United States, introduced syphilis to Guatemalans. In those years, an experiment was conducted to familiarize the action of penicillin for the treatment of such diseases.
The spread of syphilis was to find sick prostitutes who later slept with soldiers and mentally ill people for money. The effect did not greatly satisfy the doctors and they then injected the infection directly into the human spine. It is very difficult to prove what happened, as officials took the trouble to destroy all evidence of this. It is known that the death toll was about 100 people. A third of all subjects did not receive syphilis medication, which had already been developed.
Finally
We are sure that this is only a small part of the tip of the iceberg, which we partially showed. And what terrible experiments conducted by the Americans do you know? Please share your thoughts in the comments.
